We began class by answering one question on our notecard. 1) What do you want your community that you are a part of now to look like in your future? Mat passed out the notecards from previous classes. We then had two minutes to draw ourselves riding a bird. After, Isabel read her log to the class.
Next, Gordy presented his Mentor text. He started his presentation by showing the following YouTube videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxBQLFLei70 to the class. Grody connects this video to ethos, pathos, and logos.
After Gordy finished Mat talked about how this video is a good example of our 3rd project. Then, we went over the meaning of Rhetoric and connected this back to ethos, pathos, and logos because these are rhetorical appeals. Mat told us about the 4th rhetorical appeal Kairos. We talked about each appeal. I attached a chart to help understand each appeal.

Next, we talked about my community (Alpha Delta Pi at TCU). We googled Alpha Delta Pi and looked at the sources that came up.
As we continued to talk about our upcoming project and ADPI we reviewed the 6 sources of civic power from yesterday’s class.
1. Physical force
2. Wealth
3. State action
4. Social norms
5. Ideas
6. Strength in numbers
Then, we talked about Jane’s community. She is from Maryland and went to Garrison Forest School. We were running out of time, so mat told us our homework is to research for our project and no class Thursday.
